Granite Gripper Fact Sheet
- 2022 marks the 30th Annual Granite Gripper Climbing Competition. It is the longest running trad climbing competition in North America.
- This Granite Gripper takes place at Enchanted Rock State Natural Area and all proceeds go directly to Friends of Enchanted Rock. “FOER” is a volunteer-based 501c3 non-profit that reinvests donations throughout the year to:
- Preserve Enchanted Rock as a State Natural Area
- Maintain bolts and climbing hardware
- Construct and maintain hiking trails
- Provide guided tours and educational signage
- Camping is available for participants and guests on Friday, 11/18 & Saturday, 11/19 at the pavilion below Turkey Peak (not the main entrance!).
- Registration tickets do NOT include a meal ticket. Meal tickets are sold separately.

| 7:00am – 8:45am | Registration opens and all climbers sign a waiver Grab some breakfast tacos and coffee before you head out to climb. Boulderers can sign in, get their scorecards, and leave to start climbing. |
| 8:45am – 9:00am | Mandatory roped climbers’ orientation – hand out the lists and scorecards for roped climbs. |
| 9:00am | Roped climbing begins. |
| 4:00pm | Bouldering score sheets deadline. |
| 5:00pm | Roped climbing score sheets deadline. |
| 6:00pm – 7:00pm | Dinner, silent auction, awards ceremony, raffle prizes giveaway. |
| 7:00pm – 7:30pm | Evening program begins. |
